As a teacher I have never been so happy for our students to have been so 'wrong'. Its a great challenge for us to map your classroom. We've had a brilliant discussion about your feedback on our maps and we've onbviously got some serious re-working to do, and I coudln't be happier about it. Its been a brilliant experience for our students, and such a challing one.

Stephanie has told me to look at your Flickr acccount our students didnt' take the hint, or look at your class videos as closely as they should have (because of course they show the lay out of your classroom).

Its an ongoing task - I would think that we need to not start again but seriously look at and we will do from your wonderful comments.

    Thank you so much.

Thank you for your comment on our class page in Hamilton. Yes your classroom has been hard to map, incredibly hard to map for our students, but its been probably the best teaching experience that we've had this term and one of the best of the whole year. The things that you don't have, like the teachers desk, are things that our students haven't experienced before. The idea that you use buckets in the class and don't have desks like we do. The idea of having portable computers instead of having fixed desktops have all made the experience very exciting.

As a teacher I thought that it would take a couple of lessons and we would get it sorted and completed. Its in its fifth week and we are only just getting the Minecraft Maps completed - and even then we are still arguing over what it is that your classroom has, thats despite having Toms awesome measurements, having seen all your class videos and material and watched your Flickr stream of photos.

And as a teacher there's been two really powerful experiences for me. The first is that its challenged my thinking (along the lines of why do I have to have a teachers desk!) and also made ourselves think about our learning 'failures'.

We are going to try and get all the Minecraft Screen Shots completed today and posted before three o'clock.
